COLOUR 2: Patterns and Symbols.

University of Hull Icon – Reimagined

Current University of Hull Logo

Figure 1 displays a redesign of the UoH logo along with a pattern which contains the new logo. The reimagined logo has the chosen element of the dove from the existing logo. The dove is to represent Larkin but is most commonly used to symbolise love and piece. The redesign of the dove is simple line art with a coloured heart. The heart has the pride logo to symbolise a community and shows that the UoH are supportive of the LGBTQ+ community.

The pattern contains the same dove; however, the hearts are solid colours that contain the colours of the rainbow, following the same order as the pride flag. The simplicity of the design allows the colours to pop.

Figure 2 contains a promotional poster for The Big Sing Concert, it is in the style of the Original 2008 Fetes De La Musique Poster.

The poster contains multiple multicoloured music notes similar to the inspired poster all of which had different opacities and are on different layers. The background is black with an opacity of 93%, it has a musical note cut out which is where the other music notes can be seen. The text on the poster is ‘Eina 01’ all of which are capitalised. The main text is white with the offset being a bright pink to create more depth to the poster and to make it more eye catching.
