Conceptual Design Transition Planning

Conceptual design is a framework for establishing the underlying idea behind a design and a plan for how it will be expressed visually.

Design Planning

Inspiration

Before heading straight into planning the animation, Pinterest and many sites associated with the topic had designs to take inspiration from. By doing this, I came up with multiple ideas I may not have had before the research.

I decided to create a small mood board filled with some designs I liked in particular and to use as inspiration throughout the design process of my final animation.

Storyboards

Below are two storyboards. Storyboard one was my original idea, which I developed further in storyboard two. I attempted to include some form of hidden design and different transitions to make the animation flow continuously. Accompanying the images is text roughly stating what will happen in those scenes, along with visual examples of how they will be animated.

Something that wasn’t included in the storyboards was text that I plan to add; I wanted to explore the designs so that when I do my animations, I can see where they fit best and where it makes the most sense.
