Animation Storyboard
In this post, you will find storyboards centred around the chosen theme of the animation, which aims to illustrate the process of making wine using older machinery and traditional techniques.
Storyboards
The storyboards will delineate the pivotal moments in the animation, capturing the instances where significant changes will occur. These frames will serve as concise summaries of the animation, encapsulating its essence in key visual moments.
Storyboard One
The first storyboard’s concept is to visually demonstrate the step-by-step process of creating wine. As it portrays a sequence of actions, I aimed to present it as a timeline. To ensure a smooth downward motion of the components, I decided that utilising stairs would be the most suitable and seamless solution.
Initially, I planned to create a basic scene using one solid colour as the background for the animation. This approach aimed to highlight the importance of the components in the overall storytelling. By keeping the background simple and unassuming, I intended to draw the viewers’ focus entirely on the step-by-step process, emphasising each component’s significance as the animation unfolded.
As I progressed with the animation, I abandoned the initial storyboard concept. While attempting to create the animation based on the literal steps of wine-making, I encountered difficulties positioning the components, as it didn’t appear realistic or visually pleasing. Consequently, I opted for a different approach to convey the process better and maintain a more authentic representation.
Storyboard Two
After abandoning the initial storyboard idea, I decided to take a completely different direction for the animation. This time, I focused on utilising camera perspectives and smooth transitions to create a seamless flow between each process step.
Another significant change in the approach was the background design. As the animation evolved away from a visual step-by-step process, I realised that the basic solid colour background no longer suited the intended vibe. Figure 3 illustrates a rough idea of how the background in the final animation is expected to appear. This new background concept aims to align better with the overall theme and atmosphere of the animation, providing a more engaging and immersive visual experience for the viewers.
